Miss Kenda from Massachusetts

On a sunny but cold day in March, we made a to Kenda who lives in Worcester Mass. and had recently turned 25. Now, our Sammy had moved to Worcester just a few months ago. He had no idea that he was moving to a “Polar Bear” city. When we first visited him, we were greeted by a giant polar bear waving from the roof of the Polar Beverage Company.
Anyway, we visited Kenda on a sunny but cold day in March. She is a dear polar bear. She likes both her visitors and her toys. We talked to her for quite a long time; she looked at us and was either glad for the company or wondering who this crazy lady was who was talking to a polar bear….

Kenda spent a good deal of time grooming her nails…What was so cute about this was that each time she put her paw in her mouth, it would follow by a sound like a snuffle or a snortle…very cute.

We overheard a mom and her son who visit Kenda often reflect that Kenda doesn’t swim as much as she used to. Well, a gal slows down in her middle age, you know. Anyway, there is a glass wall on the side of her enclosure just in case one is lucky enough to visit on a day Miss Kenda takes a swim.
After visiting the polar bear lady, we ran into a dinosaur and had a nice visit with him, too….Aren’t they extinct? Then inside the museum, we left a note for Miss Kenda sending her greetings from the Great Knuti; I’m sure she appreciated that! It was a lovely visit.
Greetings from Knuti-Judi

Dear knuti-judi, thank you very much for the entertaining report about Kenda. She is a very nice polabear and is certainly very happy that s.o. was talking to her and left greeting from Knut.

Knuti-Judi,
Thanks so much for this enlightening post on Miss Kenda. She is the grand dame of polar bears and I salute her with deep respect. I am sure she was happy to receive greetings from her German celebrity relative. I hope we are fortunate to have the stately and dignified Miss Kenda around for some more years.
I didn’t realize that a polar ate so much food – I am overwhelmed by the statistics shown. Knut as a growing boy must have already eaten out his $millions in earnings!!
By the way, in terms age appropriate relationships here, is anyone else thinking what I am thinking? Will Manasse be interested….Nah – maybe if Miss Kenda has a few great granddaughters, then maybe….(sigh).
polar bear chow? hmmmmm…I wonder if it is specially formulated by a Knut-tritionist and contains the right proportion of croissant to pumpkin?

She looks so very sweet and I am certain she DID appreciate your visit and now being featured in Knuti’s weekly. Her life is complete!
Thanks for the sweetest report. Now, I am off to put a pic of flocke with her pink purse/Knuti in his swim trunks on my new desktop at work
Thank you for taking us with you visitng Miss Kenda. I am quite sure that she appreciated your conversation. Why should this look funny? So many people do talk to polar bears. And if you don’t believe that, well, then you must go to Berlin.
Big hugs,
Patricia
Patricia,
We know it’s o.k. to talk to bears in Bearlin….In Connecticut….who knows…..people look at you funny….
However, it does not bother me a whit….xo k-j
