War der Rbb Knut Blog nicht schon lamnge offline ? Ich habe das auch gerade gelesen. Meldung vom 27.08.2010.
Merkwürdig.
Die aktuellen Fotos von Knut versüßen den Feierabend 
Langsam wird er ein Teenager und seine Kraft wird stärker. Und wie er mit dem Baumstamm herumschleudert ist schon bemerkenswert.
Ich wünsche Allen einen ruhigen Ausklang des Tages und eine gute Nacht. Und ich wünsche schon jetzt Allen einen hoffentlich guten Dienstag.
All jenen, denen es zur Zeit gesundheitlich nicht gut geht wünsche ich weiterhin gute Besserung, vor allen Dingen viel Kraft um schwierige Zeiten zu überstehen.

there are many things that could be done without a lot of money, f.e. enrichment. That only takes some more effort from the keepers. Each meal can be made into an adventure and keep the animals occupied for a long time. Almost any Zoo in Germany does that.

danke für den Artikel. Hoffentlich tut sich da mal etwas! Viele Zoos in Deutschland zeigen uns in den täglichen Zoo-Sendungen, wieviel Spaß die Tiere z.B. an versteckter Nahrung haben können. Die sind machmal stundenlang beschäftigt, die Pfleger allerdings auch, und da liegt in Berlin wohl das Problem.

Dear Lily, sure, certain improvements do not require lots of money. I do not know so much about other zoos in Germany, but I think that the keepers in Zoo and Tierpark Berlin are doing their very best. These enrichment issues (toys, hiding food and the like) are some aspects in the keeping of animals, but the article was clearly about "bigger enclosures" and making money/turnover. And I did not find any alternative or suggestion from Frau Hämmerling. And that is why I wrote that this article belongs in my opinion to the same category of the other articles about Knut: read them and promptly forget them.

If you read the article, than you surely know, that zoo Berlin obtains 1,4 million euro and Tierpark gains 5,8 million euro from federal land Berlin this year. It is obviously that Berlin is allowed to ask how this amount of subventions can be reduced. From my experience I know that the subventions for music schools and sport clubs for the children are reduced without inquiry. I work since 1992 in Federal Agency, we have to answer each year about why we do everything and what for new visions we have. It is not a jock.
Frau Hämmerling asks about concept for deployment of Tierpark and zoo. Here is a good question, how the management thinks to make this place attractive for visitors. You can read in article, that she does not mean to do a circus from this place. She asks for ideas. If the concept exists, it is possible to find the investors. It is a duty of zoo director to find a new concept.
I cannot understand why you blame Frau Hämmerling for asking. It is not her duty to make a concept for zoo.

you may not be informed that Claudia Hämmerling has made lots of practicable suggestions in the past, and you also don't seem to know, that Dr. B. would reject angrily any idea that doesn't come from himself.

if you finde the time you may read this interesting Tagesspiegel article of two and a half years ago about possible and neccessary improvements of Zoo and Tierpark.
„Das ist Unsinn, das wird nicht gemacht“, sagte hingegen gestern Bernhard Blaszkiewitz, sein Ex-Vorstandskollege und jetziger Zoochef: „Wir müssen unsere zoologischen Aufgaben im Auge behalten, der Tierpark ist kein Vergnügungspark.“

Good afternoon to all Friends...
First of all, I thank all the Photographers for having shared with non-Berliners their beautiful pictures about our beloved Knut.
Moreover, I thank Mervi for her new nice and funny collages.
Tomorrow afternoon, I will be in Berlin with my husband Fabio: I hope to meet the most of you at Knut's and to spend all together a beautiful time. We will stay there until next Sunday.

Knut legte sich heute Morgen auf den Felsen und schaute, wer denn alles so kommt. Kurz darauf ging er ins Wasser und frönte wieder seiner Spiellust.
Zur Freude der vielen auswärtigen Besucher, die angereist sind, warf Knut den Ball des Öfteren über die Scheibe oder kurz davor. Er zeigte wieder Ausdauer und spielte den ganzen Vormittag.
und wer Knut "live" in action erleben will, für den habe ich hier noch ein Video von heute Vormittag.

Als ich am Vormittag in den Zoo ging, war Knut schon im Wasser und tobte mit dem Baumstamm, Ball, Rest Ochsenschwanz und Huhn. Als ich gegen Mittag den Zoo verließ war Knut immer noch im Wasser.
Knut geht es wirklich gut und ich hoffe sehr, daß es noch lange so bleibt.
Wie mir erzählt wurde, gab es u.a. zum Mittagessen Lachs und Rosinenbrot.
Knut hält viel von seinem Spielzeug an die Scheibe
Das Ballspiel durfte natürlich auch nicht fehlen
Dann war das Huhn dran
Er drückt sein Spielzeug gern an die Wange
